Co-op Comfort
People Caring For People
In February 2010 a group of dedicated employees of Poudre Valley REA delivered 20 handmade quilts to a church shelter for the homeless in Loveland. It was the culmination of a year of hard work and many evenings spent sewing and assembling these beautiful comforters as part of the PVREA Humanitarian Project. The project was the idea of several employees at the co-op who wanted to contribute their time and effort to helping the efforts of local charities and churches in their work with homelessness in Colorado. The quilts, and 20 matching pillows, were accepted by the House of Neighborly Services coordinator, Doug Ashbaugh at a shelter set up at the Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Loveland. Last year the shelter housed an average of 14 people. This winter the number has grown to 32.
All of us here at Poudre Valley REA are proud of our unselfish and caring co-workers and are glad that they represent the co-op so well.
