Green Power Program
Green Power can be purchased in 100 killowatt hour blocks
for just 9¢ per block
There is no minimum or maximum amount you must purchase
You can start or stop your Green Power at any time
The Poudre Valley REA Green Power Program was initiated in 1999 to allow members the opportunity to support renewable energy provided from wind, solar and small scale hydroelectric sources.
Green Power is currently available in 100 kilowatt-hour (kWh) blocks for 9¢ per block, adding only a small surcharge to your monthly electric bill.
The average home uses about 1,000 kWh of electricity each month, which is 10 blocks of Green Power. So to go all green at your house would add only 90¢ to your electric bill.
There is no minimum contract period so you can start and stop your Green Power participation at any time.
Purchasing just a single 9¢ block
of green power each month for one year has the
same environmental effect as not driving a car
2,400 miles or planting a half-acre of trees.
