Poudre Valley REA, the Better Business Bureau and Other Local Utilities Work To Bring NoCo Residents A List Of Select HVAC Contractors
When you need someone to work on your furnace or air conditioner, or install a new one,how do you know who to hire? In an effort to help consumers choose the best contractor for the job, Poudre Valley REA, Platte River Power Authority and the Better Business Bureau have joined forces to develop a list of specially selected Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Contractors. HVAC Contractors from Northern Colorado were offered the opportunity to join a new program called, SELECT-HVAC.
In order to be accepted, contractors agree to a code of ethics, adhere to industry standards for sizing, installation and repair, maintain proper licenses and insurance, be an Accredited Member of the Better Business Bureau, and agree to third party inspections.
As part of the program the two electric utilities are sponsoring intensive, advanced training in the most efficient HVAC technologies and processes for the participating contractors as well as opportunities for specialized certifications.

SELECT HVAC Contractor Code of Ethics
HVAC contractor agrees to abide by the following Code of Ethics and shall:
- Ensure that quality, honesty, integrity and good faith are the hallmarks of their business practices, including individual contractor sales, advertising, installations and service of HVAC systems
- Maintain strict compliance with all federal, state, county, and municipal government laws, regulations, and ordinances pertaining to the HVAC industry and business operation
- Design, install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in accordance with accepted industry standards
- Develop and maintain an understanding of proper equipment selection to assure customers of safe, dependable, and comfortable performance
- Develop the highest quality standards of customer service and nurture long-term relationships with customers
- Instill the highest respect and professional working relationships among other participating SELECT HVAC contractors and within their respective communities.
