Proposed Changes to Articles of Incorporation
The Articles of Incorporation is a governing document that outlines the primary rules of management of the Association. These Articles of Incorporation identify the name, address, term, and membership of the Association, as well as its purposes and powers. The proposed change addresses several housekeeping items as well as a change to board member terms. Your Board of Directors and staff strive to keep electric rates affordable and are continually looking for ways to control the costs of operating the cooperative. One of the annual expenses incurred by PVREA is the cost of running a director election. PVREA determined that by extending the term of service of a board member by one year - from a three-year term to a four-year term - we could eliminate the need for an election every four years. This translates into a significant savings in our operational expenses and helps hold the line on rate increases.
