As part of our Commitment to Community, the seventh Cooperative principle, we invest in our youth through various programs. We will continue these three great programs in 2015 for our member students:
Youth Tour & Internship
One high school student will attend the annual Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington D.C., June 12-19, 2015, free of charge. The winner of the Youth Tour will also be offered a paid summer internship at PVREA. Learn more about the program here.
Twenty-two college scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and college undergraduate students whose guardians are members of PVREA. Learn more about eligibility here.
Youth Leadership Camp
In July, PVREA will sponsor two high school students to attend the Cooperative Youth Leadership Camp near Steamboat Springs, free of charge. Students learn the cooperative business model, leadership skills and visit Craig Station Power Plant. Students also go white water rafting and many other fun activities!
