Over 1,000 members of the community gathered Saturday, April 8 at Embassy Suites in Loveland, Colorado at Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association’s (PVREA) 78th Annual Meeting.
As a member-owned cooperative, the annual business meeting was conducted by the Cooperative’s Board of Directors to present Association business to the members, elect directors, and connect with fellow members. Various local community organizations were also present to engage with the membership.
“The Annual Meeting is our biggest event of the year, and one we always look forward to. It’s a great opportunity to engage the local community and share with the members what their co-op accomplished in the prior year,” PVREA President and CEO Jeff Wadsworth commented.
Two Board of Director positions were up for reelection in 2017: one in Larimer County and one in Weld County. The membership elected incumbent Jan Peterson to serve a four-year term in Larimer County and incumbent Jack Schneider to serve a four-year term in Weld County.
PVREA President and CEO Wadsworth spoke about the Cooperative’s activities regarding affordability, reliability, and a forward focus. PVREA Board Chair Rick Johnson reported on the Board of Directors’ efforts to continue community partnerships through the Cooperative’s youth programs and various community involvements. Members also received reports from the Colorado Rural Electric Association and Tri-State Generation and Transmission, the Cooperative’s wholesale power supplier.
