New Substation in Red Feather Lakes Being Constructed

Construction is well on its way for the new Goodwin Substation in Red Feather Lakes. In our September newsletter, we talked about system upgrades we are working toward. This additional substation in the Red Feather Lakes area is a significant portion of that goal, and a project our team is really excited about.

Currently we have only one substation in the Red Feather Lakes area. This new substation will provide additional distribution resources in the area which will allow us to decrease outages and restoration time.

The substation is being named Goodwin Substation in memory of a previous board member, Stephen Goodwin, who served on the PVREA board from 1963-2001. Mr. Goodwin passed away in 2006. Read more about his story in the October 2014 newsletter here.

With these enhancements, PVREA is pleased to be improving reliability and safety to our members. Pictures of the progress is below; keep checking back for updated photos of the construction progress.
