Chun-che Lo, an upcoming senior at Fossil Ridge High School, attended the annual Washington, D.C. Youth Tour trip in June. Chun-che, along with 1,500 other high school students from other electric cooperatives around the country, spent the week at the nation’s capitol.
On the trip, the students toured many of the famous sites in Washington, D.C., such as the White House, the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, the Smithsonian Museum, the Iwo Jima Memorial and so much more! The group was also able to meet Colorado senators.
“The Washington Youth Tour is a great way to meet new people and go around Washington, D.C. learning about how legislation is made. I enjoyed being around the new people that I now call my friends. It’s an amazing experience that I’ll never forget,” Chun-che commented.
Every year PVREA sponsors students to attend this once-in-a-lifetime trip with kids from other electric cooperatives all over the nation. Applications for next year’s trip will be available later this year on our website.
