Honoring Veterans Day

Veterans Day is on November 11, and PVREA honors and supports our military veterans through several ways. This year, PVREA participated in the Veterans in Energy Conference and sent PVREA Apprentice Linemen, and U.S. military veterans, Kyle Norden and Tom Bullock to learn how to support veterans in energy careers. The Veterans in Energy is an organization that provides transition, retention and professional development support to the growing population of military veterans who have chosen energy careers.

“As an apprentice lineman learning the trade, it was an enlightening experience to network with other veterans in our industry and be mentored in my future in linework,” Kyle said.

“After spending several years in the service, you always miss that comradery from the military. It’s such a great opportunity to revisit that comradery with other vets who have the common interest of pursuing a career in the energy industry,” Tom said.

PVREA’s employees also have a heart for serving those who have served our country. PVREA Operational Technology Analyst Ken McCoy volunteers with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, an organization who uses the sport of fly fishing for therapeutic outdoor recreation for disabled veterans.

This November, PVREA wants to thank our members who are veterans and our own co-op employees who have worn the uniform: Thomas Bullock, Craig Harney, Mike Haines, Jim Hottinger, Ben Ludington, Eli McDowell, Kyle Norden, Frank Pederson, Lennie Jordan and Mike Kroells. PVREA also recognizes Kroells who currently serves in the National Guard.
