For Immediate Release: June 4, 2015
(Fort Collins, CO) – Severe weather and a tornado in the Berthoud and Longmont areas have caused several hundred outages to Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association (PVREA) members.
PVREA has dispatched crews, who are assessing damages in the area. The extent of the damages causing outages is still being investigated and crews are safely working to restore power as soon as possible. Outages may last into the late evening, early morning hours, or longer. More information and estimated time of restoration will become available as crews begin to patrol lines and search for the damages to the system. Please follow PVREA on Twitter for updates. The number of outages are reported directly to the PVREA outage map.
PVREA is urging the general public to exercise extreme caution outside. People should not attempt to drive through flooded roads. If downed power lines are spotted, assume it is still energized. Members are urged to continue to report any more outages through the Cooperative’s SmartHub app or by calling 1-800-432-1012.
