What to do if your power goes out:
- Verify that your entire house is out. You may have just blown a fuse or tripped a breaker.
- Check your meter. Take a look at your meter to help determine if the outage is PVREA’s problem or a problem within your home. A meter with a digital display will have a blank screen which indicates that the problem is on the co-op’s side. When you see something displayed on the screen, this means that power is getting to the meter and it is not a co-op outage; it is an outage within your home.
- If you believe the problem is on the co-op side, call the Cooperative to report the outage at 1-800-432-1012 or log on to SmartHub to report the outage online. Please do not email us any outage reports, as our email is not monitored 24/7.
In the case of large outage situations and/or severe weather:
Check this page for updates or check our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Because our Facebook and Twitter pages are not tied to our outage reporting system and are not monitored 24/7, please report all outages to 1-800-432-1012.
Please note that our email and social media channels are not monitored 24/7. While even one of our members without power is a problem we take very seriously, in most cases we try to post only information about outages that last longer than an hour and affect a large number of members. During most minor power outages, the overwhelming majority of our members still have power.
