Take Control of Your Energy Account - That's the Power of Prepay!
As opposed to paying for your electricity use after you use it, you prepay on your bill ahead of time. When your account runs low on funds, you simply put more money into your account. So you control how much money you spend on electricity.
- No deposit required
- No late fees
- No collection or reconnect fees
- Easier budgeting
- Timely information about electric usage
How Does It Work?
With a Pay As You Go account, the account is managed via SmartHub, a free online tool and smartphone app provided by PVREA. With SmartHub, you log into your account and see your electricity use along with how much you have spent during the month on electricity. The online access allows members to see exactly how much electricity is being used, so it can be better managed.
If your account runs out of funds, your service is automatically disconnected via remote control from the office. Once a payment is made to establish a minimum balance of $25, your service is automatically reconnected from our office.
Yes. There is no binding contract to sign that locks you in to prepaid metering. You can discontinue the use of prepaid metering at any time, although your deposit will be reinstated on your account.
Pay As You Go accounts are self-service. No REA employees are dispatched when your account funds run low. Notifications are sent via SmartHub, e-mail, and/or text messages.
You can pay with a credit card in SmartHub, a credit card or check over the phone, or by credit card, check, cash, or money order in our office.
Past due balances on your electric account will be reduced by each payment you make to your Pay As You Go account. With each Pay As You Go payment, 75% of the payment will go towards your future energy usage and 25% will be used.
